MealTab (by Scott Wolfe) keeps almost everything on your own phone, and a copy on our servers only if you choose to sign in. Here's how to delete what's on your device and how to ask us to delete what we hold.
Data on your phone
Your meal plans, pantry, shopping lists, prices, ratings, saved recipes and preferences are stored on your device. Unless you sign in to an account, we never receive them. To delete what's on your device, do either of these:
- In MealTab, open More and tap Erase all data. This erases your plan, pantry, recipes and preferences, and takes your email address off our updates list if you gave us one.
- Uninstall MealTab. This removes all of its data from your phone.
Your account, if you signed in
Signing in is optional. If you did, we hold your email address, a synced copy of your app data and a backup from each of your devices. To delete all of it:
- In MealTab, open Profile, tap Account, then Delete account. This removes your email address, the synced copy and every backup from our servers straight away. What's on the device in your hand stays until you erase it as described above.
- If you can't open the app, email us as described below and we'll delete the account for you.
Other data we hold
We may hold:
- if you signed up for the private beta on this website, your beta signup (name, email, phone type, Google account email for Android, where you shop) and invitation record
- feedback you sent from the app or the Beta Test Guide, including any email you added
To request deletion: email scott@mealtab.app with the subject "Delete my MealTab data" from the email address you used with MealTab. We'll delete your beta record, invitation, feedback and any account within 30 days and reply to confirm.
What we don't keep
ZIP codes used for live grocery prices are sent to Kroger for the lookup and not stored by us. Receipt photos are read on your phone and never uploaded.
