This Privacy Policy explains how information is collected, used, stored, and handled through the MealTab website and private beta program.
1. Information We Collect
Beta signup. When you join the beta waitlist, MealTab collects your first name, email address, and the source of the signup.
Beta participation. MealTab stores your beta status and relevant dates, such as when you joined, were approved or invited, accepted an invitation, started the beta, completed feedback, or were declined. MealTab also creates a unique invitation token and stores a token mapping so your personal access link can be validated.
Feedback. If you submit the Beta Test Guide report, MealTab receives the tester name, email address, device information, notes, and generated test report you provide.
Request information. The services that host and deliver MealTab may process normal request information needed to operate and secure those services, such as IP address, browser or device information, requested pages, and request timestamps.
Website analytics. MealTab uses Plausible Analytics to understand aggregate website traffic, such as page visits, referral sources, and general device or browser information. Plausible does not use cookies or create persistent personal identifiers for this analytics data.
2. Information Stored on Your Device
Core MealTab app information is stored locally on your device rather than in a conventional MealTab account. MealTab includes controls to export that information to a backup file and import it to restore information or move it between devices.
The Beta Test Guide also saves in-progress responses and tester details in your browser’s local storage so you can return to the guide without starting over. Clearing browser or site data may remove those locally saved responses.
Information stays local unless you choose to export, share, or submit it. When you submit a beta report, the submitted report and its included details are sent to MealTab as described in this policy.
3. How We Use Information
- Manage beta signups, approvals, invitations, access, and tester status.
- Send approved testers their personal beta invitation.
- Validate private beta links and track beta participation milestones.
- Receive, review, and use feedback to test, support, and improve MealTab.
- Understand aggregate website usage and improve the website experience.
- Operate, troubleshoot, and protect the website and beta program.
4. Where Information Is Processed
Netlify. MealTab uses Netlify to host the website and run its server functions. Netlify Blobs stores beta tester records, invitation-token mappings, status and access timestamps, and submitted beta feedback.
Resend. MealTab uses Resend to deliver invitation emails to approved beta testers. The tester’s email address and invitation message are provided to Resend for that purpose.
Plausible Analytics. MealTab uses Plausible to measure aggregate website traffic without cookies.
These providers may process normal technical information as part of hosting, securing, and delivering their services.
5. Retention and Your Choices
MealTab keeps beta program records as needed to operate and evaluate the private beta. No fixed retention period is stated at this time.
You may stop participating in the beta at any time. You can manage locally stored app information using MealTab’s available export, import, and device or browser controls. Questions or requests about beta-program information can be made through the support options described below.
6. Security
MealTab uses access controls and service-provider safeguards intended to protect beta information. No method of storage or transmission is completely secure, especially while software is being tested.
7. Changes to This Policy
This policy may be updated as MealTab and the beta program develop. The current version will be made available through MealTab or the beta program, with its updated date shown above.
